This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own actions within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service and delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery.
This training is provided at Australian Educare College full-time only at 20 hours per week with course breaks scheduled throughout the training. Training is divided into mandatory study periods during which all units are delivered through supervised, scheduled and monitored face-to-face tutorial style training in training rooms. There is also a mandatory work placement component scheduled after the delivery of all units of competency, students must complete 120 hours of work placement at the specified community services facility.
